How to setup 2FA in Kryptex 🛡

July 15, 2024, 9:40 a.m.

What is 2FA security?

2FA (two-factor authentication) is an extra layer of security for logging into an account or requesting a payout. Besides your password, you need to verify your identity with a second method, like a code from the authentication app. This makes accessing the account more secure.

The Secret code or QR code change with each website refresh, so once the page is loaded, scan the code and set it up.

2FA is a highly effective and robust security method. If you enabled 2FA but lost your phone or the account linked to the authenticator, you won't be able to make payments. Support cannot disable 2FA or help you restore the access.

Support can’t disable 2FA and will not be able to help you restore the access if you lose your authenticator. Use 2FA wisely.

How to setup 2FA security?

To enable your 2FA for your Kryptex account, please follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Kryptex account.
  2. Go to your ”Profile” page.
  3. Click ”Setup 2FA” button in the “Two Factor Authentication” section.

  4. A confirmation email will be sent to your email.

    • If there is no letter, check your “Spam” folder. Often automated emails end up there. If this happens, please mark it as “not spam”. This may prevent the mail system from making such errors.

  5. Follow the link in the letter. A page with a QR code will open.

  6. Download the “Google Authenticator” app on your smartphone. Any other two-factor authentication application will also work.

  7. Open the “Google Authenticator” app and scan the QR-code displayed on the screen.
    • If scanning does not work, enter the OTP setup code manually into your authenticator. The code is located under the QR-code.
  8. Enter the 6-digit verification code received in the Google Authenticator application in the “OTP token” line.

  9. Click ”Submit”.

  10. Done! You have enabled 2FA in your Kryptex account. Now, every time you order payments, you will have to confirm your payout with a code from the “Google Authenticator” app.

    • If necessary, it can also be disabled. Disabling must be confirmed using the same procedure as activation.
